We are at the Front Line

Fund Platform Group is an association which aims to ensure the coordination between all the fund distribution platforms worldwide and work at the protection and development of the professional interests of its members in the broadest sense.

Nowadays, fund distribution actors are not unified, notably due to a lack of cohesive and structured representation in the fund market. Because of the higher internationalisation of fund distribution channels, fund platforms have to cope with increasing complexity.

The emergence of new fund market directives and an overflow of other market regulations caused unavoidable structural changes in the fund industry (T2S, UCITS IV, RDR, FATCA, AIFM, MIFID, etc.).

For several actors, there is a need of expansion into higher margin services with a comprehensive product development approach. The global investment fund market sees strong recovery since 2008 financial crisis. There is a high momentum in cross-border fund distribution fostered by UCITS IV.

The interest for third party funds is increasing as a complement to in-house funds created additional demand for fund platform usage. The introduction of UCITS IV has boosted cross-border fund distribution in the next years and thus justify the value that fund platforms bring to the market.
